Trammell to Western CarolinaPublished by
Robbinsville senior Faith Trammell has signed to run college cross country and track for Western Carolina. Individually, Trammell became the first female state champion in Black Knights history by winning the NCHSAA 1-A cross country title in 2008. She then followed that up with a victory in the 3,200-meter run at last year's 1-A track meet. After overcoming a knee injury, Trammell contributed to Robbinsville winning the NCHSAA 1-A cross country team title in November. That team championship was also a first for girls sports at the Graham County school. "I had a lot of goals when I was younger and it's so exciting to accomplish them," Trammell said. "I love (Western Carolina). The coach is really nice and the girls are cool. I'm excited to go there and compete at a higher level." Story from Asheville Citizen-Times
